Detailed Description

We provide ballast tank cleaning and preservation from your small tanks to your 170 feet tall ballast tanks.As with any Confined Space, CleanBlast utilizes competent well train rescue personnel to assist with the implementation of the proper rescue system for the configuration of the Confined Space that work is being performed.Methods used in cleaning and preserving the tanks substrate are sand blasting and UHP water blasting.

With these methods come different challenges:
• The tank must be thoroughly cleaned of all grease, trash and any other types of contaminate before any UHP or sandblasting can be performed.
• If required, the substrate will be degreased, washed and rinsed until all contaminates have been removed to the best of our abilities.
• In some cases heavy particles will need to be removed from the tank and put into a cutting box for disposal. There may be several means of removal depending on the material in question.
• A dehumidifier will be used in tanks to maintain a constant dry temperature and atmosphere as well as to keep the dew point at the proper range required during all operations, including drying/curing of the coating applied.
• Atmospheric conditions are also a major challenge. CleanBlast procedure requires air horns to be installed ensuring the proper air exchange for the work area.

After the substrate has been prepared then the customer specific painting specs are utilized for proper preservation of the tanks.
